The PONY/NJ Chapter serves the Northeast US, including Maine to New Jersey. The chapter received its charter from CAMM on September 12, 1967 making it the second oldest chapter in the council. It boasts 225 members. Also within the chapter's area is the very active cadet chapter at Kings Point. We are currently attempting to start other cadet chapters at the New York, Massachusetts, and Maine Academies.
Bob Lamb, 2195-R is the chapter President and Captain Hugh Stephens, 672-R is the chapter Vice President. Betty Stephens, 2877-A, also serves as our long standing Treasurer.
As our President and Vice President are active Masters, meeting dates and locations vary. Watch the newsletter or this website for exact information. We generally try to hold a meeting/retreat in Mystic, Connecticut during the spring months and the Stephens host a meeting at their Maine camp during the summer. Otherwise, meetings are in the New York area.
Any member of the National CAMM in good standing, residing, working, or otherwise situated within the huge area of New Jersey to Maine is eligible to join the Port of New York/New Jersey chapter. Members of the national Council not residing or working in the area described and not affiliated with another established chapter of CAMM may be a member of and associate with the PONY/NJ chapter. We offer six classes of membership, with the same requirements of the national CAMM: Regular, Special, Pilot Regular, Pilot Special, Associate, and Honorary.
We also offer Companion membership class for members who are not members of national CAMM. Companion members shall have all the rights and privileges of active membership, with the exception of voting and holding elective office.
Annual dues for the New York / New Jersey Chapter are $20 . To apply for New York / New Jersey Chapter Membership, please contact a chapter officer.
